COVID-19 Update -April 2020

CBTL plans to keep the velodrome closed at least until August 31.  Decisions to open earlier or later than this date will be made with consideration of the guidance issued by Alberta Health Services, City and Provincial authorities, the Alberta Bicycle Association, and Canadian Cycling.  While I like to remain optimistic, we have to be realistic that we will not see much of a 2020 track season in Calgary.  This, even with the recent announcement of the Alberta Government’s three stage plan to re-open the Province as that continues to have many restrictions in place.

For those that have paid their memberships for this year, we plan to roll those into the 2021 season as we have records of everyone who has registered thus far.  If this does not work for you, please reply to this email and we will make other accommodations for you (e.g., refund).  If things improve quicker than we expect and we do end up opening, there will be a reduced membership fee.

We continue to work with the City to determine if we can proceed with track repairs.  While I am optimistic about this as well, there are restrictions on what we can and can’t do.  That said, the discussions are proceeding as planned.

On behalf of the entire CBTL Board, we hope that everyone remains safe during this time.
