CBTL Youth Development Program
Would you like to improve your cycling in a safe, fun, friendly, social and supportive environment? The velodrome is a terrific place to learn skills, develop technique and speed in a closed, controlled environment away from the dangers of potholes, traffic and other hazards. This weekly, coached program is focused on young athletes aged 13 to 19 (under 13 at coach’s discretion). The training is designed to fit in with age appropriate athletic development as described in the Canadian Cycling Association (CCA) Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) program.
In addition to all the fitness benefits, track cycling will directly improve bike handling, pedal action, sprinting and road racing skills. The track is a great place to train for other cycling disciplines and cross-train for many other sports including hockey, skiing, ringette, swimming and running. The program includes the use of the CBTL’s rental track bikes.
