NOTE: The CBTL Six-Day series does not use official UCI categories for racing, but an alternate classification involving three groups of riders based on experience and success - the A,B, and C groups.
| Track Rider Categories | |
| Juniors | Junior racers range in age between 10 and 18 years. Juniors may race in an equivalent Senior category. |
| Women | Women race in respective numbered categories as indicated below. Women may choose to race in the men's categories. |
| Category 5 | This is the beginner category for both road and track racing. |
| Category 4 | Less experienced racers, usually having less than 1 year of track racing experience. |
| Category 3 | Riders that have excelled out of Cat 4. Intermediate racers that usually have 1-2 years of track racing experience. |
| Categories Pro, 1 & 2 | Top of amateur bicycle racing (excluding pros). Riders that have surpassed lower categories, are more experienced and technically savvy. Racers usually have more than 2 years of track racing experience and may have competed on the national or world level of competition. |
